NYC Video & Grad School Assignment

So - I'm in graduate school and I'm studying Instructional Technology.  One of my assignments this semester is all about working with different camera angles and video.  The assignment was to make a video that had multiple video clips, featuring a variety of camera angles, that were all about 10 seconds in length.

I decided to take clips from around NYC on my trip last week for Spring Break!  I'm so glad I did - because I think it turned out pretty good, plus I now have a quick video to remember the trip by!

I'm thinking I should make videos of all my trips from now on!  What a great momento!  Here's my video - and the best part?  I got a 100 on this assignment!

Journaling in the Bible | Part 1 | Introduction

I've recently started a new journaling bible and have been posting some photos on Instagram.  There have been many questions and comments about the bible, and while I prove to be no expert on the topic, I thought I'd share a little bit about how I use my journaling bible.

Oh, by the way, if you are an Instagrammer, follow my Bible Journaling Journey with the hashtag #sarahjournalsthebible for all the good stuff!

First off, I want to mention that I have a lot of inspiration sources.  I've been following Illustrated Faith's website for a while and I absolutely love their content!  They have some great words of wisdom and have a lot of guest bloggers, so there is always something new to read.  I also follow the follow people on Instagram, who often post journaling bible tidbits - these are just a few of my favorites - there are truly too many to list - April (Marine Parents)Shanna Noel, and The Journaling Bible.

I use many different types of resources for the bible, and I try and pick up supplies where I can, when I can.  Here is a list of some items that I use:
- ESV Journaling Bible
- Washi Tape
- Stickers (Alphabet and Decorative)
- Stamps
- Ink Pads
- Pens/Markers
- Scrapbook Paper
- Journaling Cards (Project Life, etc.)

Stay tuned to more details on how I journal, and samples of my journaling and why I journal.

Sunday Scoop | April 12

Currently April

How is it April already!?  But seriously...I'm so ready for summer!  I'm back to link up with Farley's Currently.  These are fun to fill out every month, and I love reading the Currently posts by other bloggers!

Listening: There are some really good singers on the show this season - and some I really can't stand listening to :)  However, I think my absolute favorite part of the show, and why I continue to watch it, is the interaction between the judges, especially Blake and Adam.  You just never know what's going to happen between them!

Loving: Spring Break - enough said!

Thinking: On Sunday, I'll be taking the train up to NYC and I'm so excited!  I've taken many a vacation, but I've never traveled to my destination on a train!  And since I haven't started packing yet, I should probably start that soon!

Wanting: If you click here, you can see my weight loss journey from last year.  I successfully lost about 50 pounds at that time.  Since then, I've had to cancel my gym membership, I've stopped exercising, and my eating habits haven't been the best.  I've put back on half of what I lost originally lost :(  I've just joined weight watchers online again, so I'm hoping to see some results from that soon.

Needing: There are a lot of things that I worry about on a constant basis, and with stress from other aspects of my life, I need to learn to spend less time worrying and more time praying.  Answers will be clear in due time.

EGGS-plain your name: When I originally started my blog, I thought I was going to have a truly educational blog, like all the blogs that I enjoyed reading at the time.  However, I soon found, for some reason, that I often don't feel comfortable sharing things I do in my classroom.  This blog has been a lifestyle blog, journaling my life in and out of the classroom, and shows who I am as a person Beyond the Gradebook.  I do share some educational ideas and activities, but that's just a small portion of the blog!
