Literary Junkies #2

Here we are - at the second Link Up Party for Literary Junkies!  This is such a fun group - I only wish we all lived closer to have an in person meeting!  But, alas, the internet will suffice!  Here we go with the second link up!

1. What are you currently reading?  Tell us about it.

I just finished reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, which was the first month's book for the Literary Junkies book club.  This was a fabulous book!  My review of the book and some more information about this particular book is forthcoming - so look out for that!  I'll just tell you this - I highly recommend you read The Night Circus!  I loved it!

I have just started reading Starting from Scratch by Susan Gilbert-Collins.  When I say that I just started this book, I mean I'm only on page two, so there's really nothing to report yet about this book.  All I can really tell you is that it sounds good and I got it on clearance at Barnes & Noble.  I've never even heard of the author before.  But I have high hopes for it!  It better be good! :)

2. If you could choose any author in the world to write a story based on your life, who would you choose to be the author?  Why?

My first instinct is to say Nicholas Sparks.  I love his stories - and always wish I could be in them.  Although I may not have experienced things that he has written about, I'd love for him to write my future!  I just love his style!  Also, I would love to read a story of my life written my Karen Kingsbury. Nicholas Sparks has always been my favorite, but Karen Kingsbury is inching up close to the front :)

3. Tell us about your favorite place to read.

Anywhere.  Seriously.  I've been known to (often) carry around a book in my purse so that I can read any and everywhere that I have a spare moment.  Maybe that's why I always carry large purses!  I prefer the comfy couch, or the balcony of a cruise ship to read.  However, as long as I have a good book in hand, the very place that I am would be my favorite place to read!

4. What books would you buy for lovers of a) suspense/mystery, b) chicklit, c) comedy, d)literary fiction, e) nonfiction, f) classics?

I can't give recommendations for some of these categories, so I'll just do two of these categories.

Suspense/Mystery - anything by James Patterson.  I loved Honeymoon, but all of the books that I've read by him have been great.  I'm hoping to read some more of his stories in the near future!

Chicklit - Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin
