Savory Waffles! Yep, you heard that right. Savory. Waffles are for breakfast only, right? Wrong!
I saw this recipe for the first time on Rachael Ray's show. She once made savory waffles and they looked and sounded delish - so naturally, I made them and they are the only waffles I want now!
I told you the recipe was simple and I wasn't lying!
Ingredients
Waffle/Pancake Mix
Water
Oil
Ham (or your choice of meat)
Shredded cheese (which ever you prefer)
Honey
Recipe
Prepare your waffle mix as directed on the box. My mix calls for water and oil (but yours might be different). Once its all mixed and is the consistency you prefer, add your meat (chopped into smaller size pieces) and a handful of the cheese and stir into your mix. When your waffle iron is heated up, put in the mix and wait. Typically, you need to wait until the steam stops coming from the machine and then you know its done! Remove your waffle and drizzle with some honey (instead of syrup!)
I'm telling you - it's delicious!! You should try it sometime! They are good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In fact, I'm having one right now as I type this! :)

OMG Sarah, these sound amazing! I would have never though of adding meat and cheese to waffles but wow. I so may have to add a waffle maker to my Christmas list now.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely the best way to eat them! And with so many meat and cheese choices - it'll never taste "redundant!!"
