Back to School Goals

Jess from I{heart}Recess has created a fun linky to share our goals for the new year!  I'm a bit late, but figured I'd still join in on the fun!

Here are my goals for the 2014-2015 school year!

**Before you start reading, I just wanted to mention that my motto should read, "If you are NOT willing..."  I mistyped that and didn't save the original file to edit the wording in the image!  Oops!!**

Personal: I was doing so well with my exercise, but since I've stopped going to the gym, I've gained 14 of those pounds that I lost!  :(  So, I'm determined to get back on track with everything and get rid of those pounds...for good!

Organization: Every year, I'm scrambling at the end of the year to get my teacher evaluation binder put together.  And every year, I'm wondering why I didn't do all of that throughout the year.  This is the year that I'm going to on top of things!

Planning: I did this some last year, but not on a consistent basis.  My goal is to finish with my lesson plans for the coming week before I go home for the weekend.  Maybe even by Thursday night!  I don't like cramming to get plans done on Sunday nights - which is always how it works out!

Professional: I'm determined to learn so much this year.  I've got some new ideas that I'm going to implement in the classroom, and I'm ready to learn and grow from my mistakes in the past!

Students: I want to create a welcoming sense of community within my classes.  I want my students to feel loved and have a sense of pride with their work!  I want them to want to learn!

Motto: This motto is for both me and my students.  We are going to repeat this often and hopefully it will all stick with them throughout the year!  I might even make a poster for it to hang in the room!

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

  1. I'm always doing lesson plans on Sunday afternoons/evenings too. I love your goal of getting them done before you leave on Fridays. It would be amazing to have that weight off my back and enjoy the weekend. Good luck on getting back to the gym. I've gone to the morning class at the gym for 6 days straight and I feel great!
