First Blogiversary, A New Blog, and a GIVEAWAY!

It's hard to believe that this little blog is a year old already! I started this blog when I was preparing to move into my house last year as a way to share decorating ideas and it's grown to so much more! I've shared everything from decorating ideas, recipes, book reviews, and my weight loss progress! It's been so much fun to blog throughout this past year and I've "met" so many great bloggers! There are some awesome people in the blog world who have some excellent ideas! This is just one way I can give back to them for all the great ideas they've given me!

Now that I've been blogging here for a while, I've decided to take on a new blogging venture. As I mentioned above, there are truly some amazing people who blog. And the blogging community of teachers are an extraordinary group of people! I've learned some great teaching tips by reading blogs, I've found some great ideas to implement into my classroom, and I've been able to get to know some fabulous teachers! So, I've decided to start a little teaching blog of my very own! This is a place where I can share ideas that I do in the classroom and ask other teachers for ideas. My new blog is entitled Elementary Exploration: exploring life in the elementary classroom. I'd love for you to head over and check it out! Even if you are not a teacher, you never know what you might find on that site!

And - because it's always fun to celebrate a blogiversary with a giveaway - below you can enter My (current) Favorites giveaway! These are two things that I'm loving at the moment. First is The Ugly Truth DVD. I just adore Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler and they definitely don't disappoint in this movie! The second is part of a Meg Cabot series - The Queen of Babble and The Queen of Babble in the Big City. Again, I really love Meg Cabot's books and these are two of my absolute favorites by her! I am a huge Meg Cabot fan also. I would enter the giveaway but I already have both books. It's one of my favorites series of hers. :)

Happy Blogiversary! There is no way I can pick just one book but I do still love Summer Sisters. My fave movie is Gone with the Wind!

and that film is the ONLY film in which butler has starred that i've liked. cute movie. i've not read the books, but i certainly could use some new titles.

oh! and my favorite book of all time is charles dickens' our mutual friend. of the books i've read this year (heck the past decade), it's eleanor and park by rainbow rowell. favorite film, if i go by how many times i saw it in theaters, is star trek. otherwise i can't pick a single. if i lost my collection and had to replace it, the first five films i'd purchase would be the boxed set of star wars episodes iv-vi (which counts as one), the lord of the rings trilogy (directors cut), star trek, steel magnolias and dedication.

Oh, fun! My blog has changed quite a bit over time, too. :) Congrats on your blogoversary and starting the new one!

My favorite book...oh, there are so many good ones, I don't know if I actually have a favorite. I'm also a series gal, so can I give my top three series at the moment? Harry Potter (I know, some will groan, but c'mon. ;) ), the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. I like a little magic in my life, I guess. :)

My favorite movie is probably It's a Wonderful Life. I have a shelf-full of favorites, but this is one that I have watched what seems like every year of my life, and I always find a new way to look at it. :)

Favorite book .... I love them all it is so hard to narrow it down to just one...but I think today I would say it is ....Divergent...by Veronica Roth...I am about half way finished with it and absolutely love it!

congrats on the blogiversary! my favorite movie is you've got mail and my favorite books are the harry potter series. i'd love to read these books in your giveaway though. they seem like books i'd definitely enjoy!
