A week at the beach...via Instagram!

**First things first.  The winner of Friday's flash giveaway of a copy of my teacher planner is Brook!  Congrats, Brook!  You guessed correctly!  I'll be visiting London, Paris, and Amsterdam in just three short days!!!  Brook, please send me an email to beyondthegradebook12@gmail.com and I'll get the planner out to you!**

If you are following me on Instagram, you saw my posts from the past week while I was at the beach.  If you aren't following me on Instagram, what are you waiting for!?  I'm leaving for Europe on Thursday...so you are definitely going to want to be over there!!

Here's my recap from the beach...with my Instagram images!  My recap with camera pictures is coming later this week!

All packed and ready to go!

We made it!  Stopping at the Visitor's Information Center for brochures!

One drawback to the Outer Banks.  Traffic, traffic and more traffic!  And this is after arriving 'early!'

We sat in traffic so long, that the GPS thought we were walking!  I've never seen that screen before!

Dark skies on the first day!  Luckily it didn't storm!

A family favorite!  Skip-Bo!

The beach!

Sunset over the Sound!

Breakfast by the Sound!

The Sound, again.

Bodie Island lighthouse

Riding the ferry to Ocracoke Island.  We didn't realize until afterwards that it was a one-hour ride...both ways!  Oops!

Horses on Ocracoke Island

Ocracoke Island Lighthouse

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse!  AHHH!  That light is AMAZING!  Gotta love the camera on the iPhone as well!

While everyone went to the beach or enjoyed the pool, I preferred sitting inside and reading!

Duck Donuts.  A must if you visit the Outer Banks.  Best. Darn. Donuts. Ever!

Sunday Social

It's Sunday - and I'm linking up with Ashley and Neely again for their fun Sunday Social!

Here are this week's questions:

1. What was your college major?
Elementary Education - it's the only thing I ever considered going to college for!  The picture below is my classroom!

2. Best purchase you've made lately?
This is hard - because I've been scaling back on shopping - for many reasons.  However, I'd have to say that my first house (which I purchased in October) is by far my FAVORITE purchase ever!!

3. Something silly we don't know about you?
I sing in the shower...and while I'm driving...ALL THE TIME!  Some of my favorite music to sing?  BACKSTREET BOYS!  Yes, I'm a fan.  Yes, I saw them in concert last year!  :)

4. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas!  It's my favorite holiday to celebrate, decorate for, and sing songs during! :)  In fact, I might go a little crazy at Christmas.  My small house has 6 rooms (including the bathroom) and I put up and decorated five trees this past Christmas!!

5. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Without a doubt, I check my email, Facebook, and Bloglovin' account!

Five For Friday....a winner...and a flash giveaway!

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching today for her fun Five For Friday post!  Here's where you share all things fun from your week!

I've been on vacation this week...at the beach!  The Outer Banks of North Carolina, to be exact!  It's funny - most people come to the beach to hang out and relax (on the beach).  I come to the beach to travel and get around.  The week isn't over yet and my little car has already driven 600 miles SINCE WE ARRIVED (not including travel!)!  Crazy, huh!?  I'm planning on doing a better photo dump post with some pictures but here are a few favorites.

Do you enjoy going to the beach?  What beach do you prefer to vacation at?

In SIX DAYS, I'll be boarding a plane to EUROPE!!  Wanna have a fun little giveaway!?  Well, I posted last week about my new teacher planner and gave one away (and the winner is listed at the end of this post)!  I'm going to give one more copy away!  I'm visiting three cities in Europe.  Leave a comment on this blog post, with your three guesses as to the cities that I'm visiting.  The first person to correctly choose all three will win a copy of my new teacher planner!  I'll choose and announce the winner on Monday!

I'm currently working on completing my master's degree in Instructional Technology.  Being at school isn't as fun as I remembered...especially online, but I am learning a bunch of great things!  What's also not fun is taking summer classes...while at the beach!  But a girl's gotta do what a girl needs to do to graduate on time, right!?  This has been my view a few times this week while at the beach.  But at least the class will be all over with next week!  Yay!

Now that summer is in full swing, I've got a lot of classroom ideas to make, create, and implement.  And a lot of pinterest pins to complete.  What is your number one to-do item for your classroom this summer?

WINNER, WINNER!

I gave away a copy of my new teacher planner last week, and I'm happy to announce that Cindy C. was the winner!  Cindy, send me an email to beyondthegradebook12@gmail.com to claim your prize!!  Congratulations!  And, if you didn't win, don't forget to enter my flash giveaway that ends Sunday night!  Read number 2 above for the rules!

*Giveaway* My New Teacher Planner

*Stay tuned to the end of this post for a giveaway!!*

I love to stay organized, especially at school.  I also love using technology.  However, when it comes to planners, I prefer printed calendars to digital calendars.  Last year, I used about three different calendars/planners for school, because not one had everything that I wanted.  And I've yet to find that one planner that does.  So, I set out to make my own for this year!  I searched out for some pretty and fun digital clip art images and got to work on my new planner, and I'm in love!  It's going to be such a fun thing to use and I'm so excited for next year!

I've also posted my new 2014-2015 Teacher Planner on TeachersPayTeachers.  It's also on sale until the end of June...so hurry up and purchase today at a discounted price!! ;)
